How to make a misleading graphWould you like to win an election? Do you want people to see it your way? Well, then this is the lesson for you! It almost seems wrong that we would teach you how to intentionally mislead someone with a graph. But, really, we want you to be aware that not every graph displays the truth and there is a right and wrong way to graph data.
This one just makes me laugh. So, I have to put it on here. This begs the question, "Is there a correlation between murders in the U.S. and Internet Explorer Market Share?" Well, the graph would sure make it appear so. We, being of sound mind and judgement, are smart enough to know the two are unrelated. There is a lack of causation (one variable causes another). Welcome to the the world of deception. Or in some cases, politics. |
